DigiBarn Systems:
The Kaypro-1

The Kaypro-1, is a confusingly named version of the Kaypro line, actually one of the last systems, introduced in 1986. The Kaypro 1 is a derivative of the Kaypro 2X but with a smaller software package and vertically oriented half height drives.

Kaypro in its carrying case

From Digibarn virtual visitor Paul Bissex (March 17, 2006)

Love seeing all this old stuff.  Your page on the Kaypro 1 could use some clarification.  Kaypro employed perhaps the most confusing model naming scheme ever devised; the Kaypro 1 that you showcase was actually one of their *last* models. The half-height drives are the major tipoff that it's not an early model. The original was the "Kaypro II".

For more info you can see a blog posting of mine (https://e-scribe.com/news/86)  and the Wikipedia timeline (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaypro#Kaypro_by_Model_.26_Year).

Curator: Thanks for this clarification Paul, changes and clarification made!
