Fairchild Channel F Video Entertainment System (1976)

Thanks Stan Trevena for this donation of a perfect condition 1976 Fairchild Channel F (in the box!). The Channel F was one of the first console game systems and hit right after the wildly successful PONG and Super PONG from Atari. The Channel F, originally marketed under the name Video Entertainment System (VES) was the first programmable game console featuring game cartridges which were programmed with microcode (not just dedicated circuitry as in the Magnavox Odyssey). The VES also had the now familiar "stick" multi purpose game controllers on 8 foot cables. The Channel F/VES drove Atari to create its next generation videogames (and to sell itself to Warner Communications for the capital needed for R&D).
