DigiBarn Docs: Apple II "Shep" DOS Specifications (1 of 2)

The following are a series of handwritten, photocopied and otherwise marked up documents to aid Paul Laughton of Shepardson Microsystems to develop the Apple II DOS (Disk Operating System) based on Steve Wozniak's design of the hardware for the Apple floppy disc controller/drive. Some of these are Woz' own notes and diagrams, some from others including Bill Fernandez (15 Dec, 1977 for Shugart disk controller) who authored actual schematics. Note the quaint "Company Confidential" written in red pen on some of the documents. This project was done in the days before lawyers and big development teams sequestered in secret. Also worth noting is the handwritten 6502 assembler code, presumably by Woz, and the early date of Woz 2/15/78 (Steve Wozniak, February 15, 1978, Apple II sector formats) and Woz code from March 2, 1978. Don't forget to see page two of these documents. All in all this is a fascinating chronicle of "How Apple Booted Up". Thanks Paul Laughton!
